McLean Select Basketball
FCYBL Rules and MSB Policies
Overview
McLean Select Basketball, sometimes also referred to as the County League, is designed to provide highly skilled boys and girls – Grades 5 through 8 – with a more competitive and focused playing environment then the House Leagues.
McLean Select Basketball competes in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL), an organization of similarly skilled teams with 27 member organizations in the greater Northern Virginia area, including Fairfax County, City of Falls Church, Arlington County, City of Alexandria, and two Loudoun County clubs, Gainesville Basketball Association and Mercer Basketball League.
Each team usually has between 9-10 players, and tryouts for the teams are competitive, with no guarantee that every player trying out will be selected.
Tryouts for the teams begin October 1 and last for two weeks.
All players trying to make a select team should expect to attend a minimum of 3-4 tryouts before team selections are announced.
