The following is an overview of MYB Select Basketball (aka as "Travel" or "County" teams):

• Players are higher skilled and the teams play in the very competitive Fairfax County Youth Basketball League ("FCYBL")
• Teams are formed for players in grades 5-8; 4th grade players can tryout for 5th grade teams
• Two teams each are formed for boys and girls per grade
• Must attend multiple tryouts during the first two weeks of October
• 9-10 players per team
• Placement is selective and not guaranteed
• Preseason tournament over Thanksgiving weekend
• Practice two times per week; 1-2 games per week
• 14 game regular season begins around December 1
• Playoffs begin in late February; teams are not guaranteed a spot
